THE IMPACT IS well made, with good details such as a smoothly taped inside neck, a zip garage and a lens cleaner, but the overall cut and style just didn’t work for us.
It’s more relaxed than a roadie jersey but not really fully committed to
being an easy, mountain biking friendly cut. The result is an unhappy style
combination that feels wrong. The neck is too high and the set-in sleeve design
doesn’t allow them to articulate forwards properly, so they feel binding.
The fabric is the excellent Pearl Izumi In-R-Cool, which wicks well and
keeps you cooler than the medium-weight feel suggests. But this is more of an
upright-riding commute style jersey than one that we’d choose to wear out on
the trails in anger.
