SDG Bel-Air 2.0 Ti-Alloy saddle

SDG’s Bel Air has finally been updated and its user friendly, universal fit appeal is definitely still intact. The new shell is thinner and there’s less side skirt too but the rounded nose and raised tail are still present, keeping you naturally centred on the saddle even when grinding a gear round.

The ‘Pericanal’ central depression, broad nose and 140mm width make it good for those who suffer numb nuts or don’t wear padded shorts, but it’s firm enough for all-day support. There are no hooks or sharp edges to catch shorts, and the rear corners are reinforced.

Chromoly (75$) and titanium (135$) railed versions sit 15g either side of the 240g Ti-Alloy version we tested. There are nine colour options, although the painted details tend to rub off relatively quickly in filthy/gritty conditions. The upper is impressively bombproof, though, and cleans up well after rides.

Gusset Magnum stem

SO GOOD Gusset’s 50mm stem is nicely CNC machined from 7075 alloy and the faceplate and internal steerer clamp are available in a range of five anodised colours to complement the black body. The hidden steerer clamp keeps sharp edges to a minimum and removes stress from the body of the stem. Out on the bike, the stem proved flex free and bombproof.
