Fox 36 Float RC2 FIT Factory fork

WHILE THE NEW 36 Float FIT4-Adj is 90$ cheaper and offers faster flick-lever compression adjustment, the RC2 is still the go-to version for full-gas Fox fans. That’s primarily because the high-speed compression damping is fully adjustable externally rather than preset. This lets you open up the fork more in the mid stroke for an easier ride on your wrists when you’re off the brakes and on a mission.

Slide-on volume spacers for the spring shaft make adding progression comparatively easy. The low-speed compression adjustment is completely independent, so you can still keep a serious amount of support for driving through berms or off the backside of rollers and landings. If you’re careful with your clicking that doesn’t have to be at the expense of traction from the luxuriously sensitive stroke created by the Kashima-coated legs and highlyevolved seals either.

The bolted dropout clamps are slower to use than the 36 FIT4’s screw-in cam lever set-up but removable inserts make them 20mmaxle compatible. Interestingly, our twist rig showed very little difference in surprisingly flexy torsional stiffness between the two axle diameters. The big 36mm legs and lower chassis do give excellent fore/aft and lateral stiffness for a clear feedback feel on the trail though.
