Pearl Izumi X-Project 1.0 and 2.0


Pearl Izumi MTB shoes have got a whole new look and structure for 2015. The heart and sole (no pun intended) of the X-Project range is the sole. It is fl exible in the right places for walking and running, but stiff enough for power transfer.


In the 2.0, the carbon fi bre sole is complemented by an EVA foam heel for off bike comfort. With a Boa reel and velcro working with a bi-directional closure they have a very precise fi t. The extra padding and bigger toe bumper should make a great performance trail shoe.

The 1.0 model is pared down a little, with a seamless second skin upper, no EVA insert in the carbon fi bre sole, and 2 Boa reels and non-stretch mesh for a high-performance fi t using the same bi-directional closure. It’s also a little lighter – making a great race and trail shoe, especially if you dabble in cyclocross.
