The Heist’s shaped side plates make it by far the most comfortable-to-use tool on test. That means you can crank bolts up nice and tight, despite the tool’s minimal length.

Straight Allen keys from 2mm to 8mm are on there, as well as a T25 Torx wrench and both flat and Phillips screwdrivers. As well as being compact at 70x40mm, the Blackburn tool is also lightweight, making it a no-brainer addition to your riding pack.

The Heist is missing a chain tool – though that’s less of an issue now that most chains can be joined with quick links. Assuming you remember to carry one...
