Scott have updated their World Cup DH bike for 2015. The new Gambler retains the progressive Floating Link suspension design introduced on the 2013 version and the only obvious difference, other than new colours, is the introduction of 650b wheels. But the geometry has also been tweaked to increase the reach and improve handling, and the suspension kinematics have been refined to optimise performance with Fox’s latest DHX RC4 shock.
- The Swiss Army knife of the downhill world, the Gambler has an adjustable
BB height (+/- 10mm), head angle (61-65 degrees) and chainstay length
(425-440mm).
- Available in three sizes, it has a longer front centre than before,
with feedback from Brendan Fairclough leading Scott to add 10mm to the reach
(15mm on the medium size).
- The top-specced 710 model shown here will cost 6500$ and come with a Shimano Saint transmission, Zee brakes,
Syncros finishing kit and top-of-the line Fox DHX
RC4 and 40 Float dampers.
- Though designed with 650b wheels in mind, the adjustable BB height
means it can quickly be retrofitted with 26in wheels.
- The new Floating Link configuration retains the progressive
feel and support of the old design but reduces rotation at the shock mounts,
improving small-bump sensitivity.
