THE RIME’S ‘BODY Geometry’ insole feels weird at first but there’s sound orthotic science behind the shaping and we know plenty of riders who won’t use anything else. The shoe comes in a good range of sizes too but we’d definitely try the distinctive fit before you buy.
An adequately stiff sole unit helps spread pressure on longer rides and pedals OK too. The shoe gives good trail feedback and the low-profile Vibram tread feels surefooted on platform pedals and off the bike. Toe and heel bumpers help protect against rock and pedal strikes.
Lots of mesh and a low ankle cut mean the overall feel is open and airy
– great for summer cruising, but it left some testers frozen toed. The Boa S2
fastener can be unhooked for speed or replaced if damaged.
