CANYON SPECTRAL AL 9.0 EX

CANYON’S COLOUR-COORDINATED Spectral AL 9.0 looks like a bike that means business. With a wishlist of components, it’s hard not to question the fantastic price of this stunning new bike from Germany.

From the RockShox Revelation fork and Monarch Plus shock to the SRAM X01 drivetrain, RockShox Reverb Stealth seatpost, SRAM ROAM 50 650b wheels and even the Renthal Fatbar and Duo stem, the AL 9.0 looks too good to be true!

Designed with input from none other than three-time world DH champ Fabien Barel, whose persistence in product development allows for little margin of error, the Spectral looks more than ready to tackle any challenge.

PRICE: 4095$

Gusset Magnum stem

The hidden steerer clamp keeps sharp edges to a minimum and removes stress from the body of the stem. Out on the bike, the stem proved flex free and bombproof.

The fat aluminium tubes are a constrast to the skinny items seen elsewhere in the test, but this rigid Cannondale uses them to create one of the most old-school - and lightest - rides here.

iXS Asper BC shorts

THEY AREN’T CHEAP, but these well made and feature packed shorts are the epitome of classic mountainbike-specific functionality, and on the bike they don’t disappoint.
