Alpinestars Milestone jacket


THE STYLING OF the Milestone reminds us of a favourite hoody and that’s what it is really, albeit a technical one. The substantial softshell fabric is warm to wear and kept us dry, but you do need the pit zips once the temperature rises or you start to work hard.

The fit is casual, with a roomy, boxy shape and sleeves that taller riders will find too short for riding in for any length of time. The hood is removable, but it’s part of the charm of the jacket.We’d leave it in place and pull on the Milestone for relaxed rides, playing at the bike park or just plain old hanging around, because it looks equally at home with jeans.

More length and a touch slimmer fit would maintain the relaxed appeal of this jacket but make it more suitable for some serious saddle time.
